Challenger Learning Center at Prairie Aviation Museum

  Children's Discovery Museum
         The Children's Discovery Museum -- where touching the exhibits
  is actually encouraged. This new children's museum located in the
  heart of Normal boasts exhibits designed for kids of any age to touch,
  climb on, climb into, and even take apart. With three floors of unique,
  hands on, and larger than life exhibits this museum nurtures the love
  of learning that will last a lifetime.
   
  J.T. and E.J. Crumbaugh Museum
         This museum is located in the lower level of the Crumbaugh
  Library. Displays pertaining to the early history of LeRoy are depicted
  and shown in glass cases. There are also vintage clothings displayed
  on mannequins and historical scrapbooks to read.
   
  Rike House Museum
         Built in 1853, the house of blacksmith Robert Ingle has undergone
  extensive restoration. The museum features antiques, a Rike family
  Bible, LeRoy's first piano, and the original fireplace.
   
  Simpkins War Museum
         Mr. Simpkins began his extensive and unique personal collection
  of Civil War artifacts when he was 12 years old. Permanent displays
  show artifacts from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World Wars
  I and II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Desert Storm. The museum's
  motto is not to glorify war, but to honor the warriors.
   
   
  Nature and Wildlife Attractions:
   
  Miller Park Zoo
         Lions and Tigers and Bears...oh my! It's the wonderful world of the
  Zoo! From lumbering Galapagos tortoises to frolicking California sea
  lions and a mysterious Sumatran tiger, the Miller Park Zoo provides an
  adventure every time. The new Rainforest exhibit with its colorful
  tropical birds welcomes visitors year round.
   
  Constitution Trail
         Throughout Bloomington the Constitution Trail is a multi-use trail
  with over 14 miles of hard surface. The Trail is perfect for walking,
  jogging, roller blading, biking, cross country skiing, or strolling.
         The North-South segment of the Trail follows the abandoned
  Illinois Central Gulf Railroad from Kerrick Road to Washington Street.
  The East-West segment intersects at Normal City Hall Annex and
  continues east to Lincoln Street, while another brach starts at
  Rolingbrook Park and travels east to Oakland Avenue.
   
  Evergreen Lake Boat - Rental Marina
         Glistening 900 acre Evergreen Lake provides the scenic backdrop
  for some of the best fishing and passive water sports in Illinois.
  Canoes, paddleboats, sailboats, rowboats, and outboard motors are
  available here for an enjoyable afternoon alone or with family and
  friends. State record hybrid-wall-eye, big muskie, and bass make this
  a favorite for both the causal and tournament fisherman
   
  Ecology Action Center
         This is a walk-in informational and environmental education center
  for individuals, classes, workshops, and meetings. Opened in 1995, it
  provides the community with practical workshops on recycling,
  composting, and energy saving.
   
  Grand Village of the Kickapoo Park
         The Grand Village of the Kickapoo Park was established in 1998 to
  honor the Kickapoo Tribe that inhabited the land from the Mid-1700s
  until their removal in 1832. The park is also host to one of the largest
  American Buffalo herds in central Illinois.
   
   
  Local Recreation and Entertainment:
   
  U.S. Cellular Coliseum
         The newest addition to entertainment in downtown Bloomington
  is the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. This premier entertainment center boasts
  over 8,000 seats. It is also home to the Extreme, our United Indoor
  Football team, as well as a team from the United Hockey League. The
  state-of-the-art facility also hosts several theatrical productions,
  concerts, sports tournaments, family events, and conferences all
  year long.
   
  Pepsi Ice Center
         Grab your ice skates or rent them but don't miss out on the newest
  family activity in Bloomington. The Pepsi Ice Center, adjacent to the
  U.S. Coliseum, offers public skating and youth hockey.
   
  Upper Limits
         With over 20,000 square feet, Upper Limits is one of the largest
  climbing gyms in North America. Perfect for both the advanced climber
  or the beginner. This unique rock-climbing gym is committed to
  providing a fun challenge and experience. Enjoy rock-climbing while
  climbing one of the 65 feet tall silos or by rappelling 120 feet off the
  top of a building.
   
  Mitsubishi Motors - North America
         The best backed cars in the world are built right here in
  Bloomington, IL. The only Mitsubishi plant in North America offers
  tours for individuals as well as for groups. Find out how more than
  1,000 robots assist in building six different models of Mitsubishi
  automobiles. The plant is capable of producing 375 vehicles per day
  and 52 cars per hour!
   
  ISU Bowling and Billiards Center
         The Illinois State University Bowling and Billiards Center provides
  entertainment for students, faculty/staff, and the general public in the
  form of: bowling, billiards, video games, and pinball machines.
   
  ISU Planetarium
         The Illinois State University Planetarium offers a variety of
  entertaining and educational programs about science and astronomy.
  The Planetarium is located in Felmley Hall of Science, on the Illinois
